Jaakko Marianpoika (son of Maria) was born on August 15, 1864 in Kurikka, Finland.
Mother : Maija Liisa Koijenberg / Köjenberg / Tuohimäki, born May 7, 1826 in Kauhajoki.
Wife : Brita Lena Tuomaantytär Pitkämäki / Yli-Jyrä, born 13.1.1862 in Kurikka.
In 1888-1892 Brita and Jaakko lived in Kurikka's Miedonkylä in Ala-Lusa at Pummi House.
Sometimes Jaakko also used the name Ranta.
Jaakko left for America to earn some bucks in 1890. He returned once or twice to his homeland but then left again, apparently for mines.
Jaakko's nephew was also called Jaakko. This Jaakko Vihtori Pummi was born in 1890 and traveled also to America to work.
It is said that Jaakko Marianpoika Pummi died on 1.1.1920. His grave is not in Finland. I don't know where this date of death comes from.
Would Jaakko have been involved in the First World War, I don't know.
In Finland, Jaakko was declared dead in 1939.
