Arkistonäkymässä ei tällä hetkellä lainaus erotu varsinaisesta viestistä. Suosittelemme että vilkaisette ns. täydellistä versiota: : Matti Matinpoika Luhti

Can anyone read and translate the notation that appears before the name of Matti Matinp. Luhti 25/2 49 in the 1860s rippikirja from Ylistaro? Kiitos!
I think it is Fost.b, meaning fosterbarn, foster child.
A suitable Matti is born to Lena Mattsdr here, "jalkalapsi" meaning he was born without wedlock

Tuhatta kiitoksia, Tuula! I have one other question about Matti. Are you able to read what it says under the "Ort" column for Matti from the 1853-1859 rippikirjat for Ylistaro.
Matti Matinpoika Luhti is my wife's great-grandfather and his ancestry has been a little bit of a mystery for us. My wife's is 100% Finnish, but her DNA test shows a few percent North African and we suspect it may be from Matti's "unkown" father. Matti came to the United States and died here.
Happy Easter!
Oh, that is really difficult to say what it says. But I think it is not referring to Ort, a place, as mother Lena Mattsdr lived in the same village when the sons were born - rather, it could be something the priest has written on their illegitimate birth?
Matti still is Lena's son here http://digi.narc.fi/digi/view.ka?kuid=23704269
and probably father's name Matti is a mistake, taken from Lena's father.
Many of us have those mysterious small percentages in DNA, you are not alone. But they come from very far in most cases I guess.
Happy Easter to you, too!

I read the last word as "pensionair".
