Mr Edward Heino (born Sept. 1, 1885 in Padasjoki, Finland) was in Duluth Ward 4, St Louis, Minnesota, USA in 1910. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9RNT-1KG?cc=1727033 It is told that afterwards Ed Heino had a poultry farm perhaps in Minnesota. It is supposed that Mrs Aune Harju, RRI. Worthington, Ont. Canada, POM 3 HO (in the 1970’s) is or was a member of his family. I’m looking for any information on Edward Heino’s and/or Aune Harju’s families.

A piece of additional information. There is a photo of Mr Ed (or Edward or Eetu) Heino and Mrs Nanni (or Nanny or Nannie) Heino. It was taken perhaps in the 1940's.

1. A piece of additional information.

A text (in Finnish) on the reverse side of a photo:
"I took this photo in a hurry and the cottage is a little leaning in the picture. Under the big window there grows the red rose that I got from Mother. The sister of Urho, Hilja, sits on the steps of the cottage. She came to Finland and is in Kauhava in the communal home of the elderly. She wanted to be there when she was left a widow. " In the corner of the photo, there is a date: OCT 56.

It is supposed that Urho and his sister Hilja might have been relatives or close friends to Edward Heino.

2. Fanni or Fannie

The name of Mrs Heino might have been Fanny or Fannie instead of Nanni (or Nanny or Nannie) Heino.

There is an old photo, no information regarding date or place. It shows five persons: an older couple, a younger couple and a baby in the arms of the older lady.

Only three of them, Laura, Eero and Pape, have been named on the reverse side of the photo. I guess that the younger couple are Laura and Eero, and the (or their?) baby is “Pape”. (Could Pape be Finglish and mean Babe in English?) The older couple might be grandparents of the baby. It is supposed that Laura, Eero, and (their child?) Pape belong to the family of Edward Heino or might have been close friends to him.

A wild guess (without any justification): The name of Pape might be Aune Harju, and Laura and Eero are (or were) her parents.

It’s quite probable that Urho and Aune Harju have been identified. Most obviously they were the parents of Frederik (Fred) Harju. http://www.rangerssudbury.com/obituaries/harju-fredrik-fred/

However, this piece of information doesn’t include anything as regards their links or relationship to Ed Heino.

When comparing several photos, it seems obvious that Urho and Aune Harju are grandparents of “Pape”. Laura and Eero are the parents of “Pape”. In that case either Eero was/is Eero Harju or Laura’s birth name was Laura Harju. But what might have been their link to Ed Heino?

A piece of additional information: According to “Index of Deceased Canadians of Finnish Descent in the Sudbury District, Ontario” Urho Gabriel Harju died on March 25 1983 and Aune Olga Lyydia Harju (nee Tapper) died on March 13 1989. The cemetery is Beaver Lake.

According to the material provided by Mr Marty Neva, Aune Olga Lyydia Harju (neé Tapper) was born in Saarijärvi, Finland in 1910. She had two younger brothers, Paul and Leo. And she also had a half-sister Laura. In the obituary of Aune Harju it is said: "a half-sister Laura Viita of Thunder Bay".

There is an old photo. It gives a lady with a baby on her arms, an older gentleman (his husband?), and the parents of the baby. On the reverse side of the photo there are some first names but no family names. It is most obvious that the lady with the baby is "Aune"; the same Aune (without any family name) is in several photos. According to some letters it's believed that she is Aune Harju. Consequently, the younger couple are "Laura" and "Eero". We've concluded that the older gentleman is Urho Harju.

It might be that Laura Viita of Thunder Bay is the Laura whose name is on the reverse side of the photo. In that case Eero might be Eero Viita.

Sometimes things are in the shadow of your nose. Aune Olga Lyydia Harju, b. 1910, was a daughter of Rauha Tapper (nee Heinonen). Rauha Heinonen's mother was Amanda Laaksonen (nee Heinonen), born on September 22, 1870. Amanda Laaksonen's brother was Edvard Heino, born on September 1, 1885. Edvard Heino was Aune Olga Lyydia Harju's great uncle. Still missing the information on their families.
