I’m trying to learn where Anna Remes (my (6TH Great-Grandmother) was born and more about the Remes family she descends from. I have seen a number of websites on the Remes family but cannot, as yet, connect my family to them. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

9. Petter Lappalainen/Lappalain – Farm Master. Records of the Savonia Regiment, Iisalmi Company, state that the farm of Rotanlax was responsible for a Soldier. In the 1767 Muster Petter is mentioned as one of 2 responsible Farmers from Rotanlax.

d. December 14, 1742 – Ruotanlax, Iisalmi (the name was Maria Remes. However, the relative (i.e. usually spouse) indicated is “Farmer Petter Pettersson Lappalain”. Note: her last child indicated was born March 6, 1742)

Can anyone determine from the link sent in the thread from Asko when was the last entry for Anna Remes – daughter of Matts? I note that the link states that it is for the period 1732-1734. Anna was born in 1712 and married in 1733. If the last entry ends in 1732 or 1733 rather than, for example, 1734 I think that it would be further evidence that this may in fact be my ancestor, i.e. she lived with her parents up to 1733 and then was married.

Does anyone have any information in this Matts Remes and his wife Kirsti? Many thanks for your assistance!

I think that due to marriage:
- 1733 Petter Petterson Lappalain / Anna Mattz dotter Remess (information originally from Charta Sigillata payment list of county accounts)
Anna can be found among her brand-new spouse's family after 1733!
