=================================

Sorry, for writing in English.

Can someone say if this man was born in Kuusamo?

I am trying to do some research on him and his tragic death.

HisKi does not have records that go to 1880.

Migration Institute does have some " Oivanki " names, but I think it is not the same man.

I am interested to see when he was born, when he migrated to the USA and where he was born.

Thank you - Kiitokset - Tack

It is OIVA 25, Farm at Posio. 1880 Posio was Kuusamo village. Do you have father name for Herman. Could not find him ,although I should. Here's one page of OIVA 25 farm at Posio/Suolijärvi by

Many/Most of Oiva family are originally Mursu.

Not saying it must be Oiva, but can be also Oiva. It is possible that Herman is Oivanki or Oiva, Oivanki and Oiva both farms in Kuusamo.

This is the image which you could not observe, since you have no access to sshy pages.

Kustaa Herman is on the 4th row. His reading skills were 3 out of 4 (maximum), he was vaccinated against smallpox, his language was Finnish, and he had participated in reading test in 1892.
