Sain viestin jenkkilästä enkä ymmärrä ihan kaikkea. Tekstin on kirjoittanut vanha rouva ja hänellä on jonkin verran puuteita tietokoneen käsittelyssä. Onko täällä joku joka osaa kääntää minulle seuraavan tekstin:
My name (birth name) is Virginia Lee ILER. I was nicknamed "Patty" by my oldest sister because each of my mother's families in her line had at least one girl named Virginia Lee. That comes down from being to Robert E Lee (general for south in Civil War) but it is really his wife Mary CUSTAS LINE we are related to. Her grandm,other was married to George Washington, President. It was their land that our government siezed to make a cemetery for Northern dead soldiers- -Arlington Cemetery. I remember mother trlling me about all this when I was 4 or 5. She died when I was 6yrs, my first day of school. She was a school teacher, as was most of her sisters & Aunts. Her youngest sister died a few years ago at age 102 & she wad been a professor at University of Oklahoma. Mother b. 1888 & she & most of siblings born Missouri. Her parents were very prosperous & decided to go to Canada when they opened free land. They have about 5,000 acres & raise beef & one cousin raised Rodeo Horses etc. Mother went to live with an aunt & Uncle in Norman OK as they had no children & wealthy. She was getting her masters degree while teaching in OK. She also was a master horsewoman & went to Canada & taught & rode over 40 miles on weekrnds to see family in Alberta. She returned to US & thats when she met Daddy & married 1913. I was like a second family as My siblings we grown or almost, when I was born. My brother was in Merchant Marines to China , back & forth. So, as all of these "proper" school teachers visited my fam. My older sis. being "looked over"!! Except for legal purposed, I go by "Patty" My maiden name of ILER is german, but I have other nationalities from different grandparents. My 3 great grandmother was Elizabeth Lewis, married a Major Martin in 1700's She was an Aunt to Merriwether Lewis of Lewis & Clark fame. He was President Jefferson's secretary & were neighbors. Well, I could go on to other noted people but it gets boring!! I will get info. about William & get back to you. Bye or now, PATTY & Matti koira!
