I am trying to find some confirmation (birth entry in a church book) about the parents of Johannes William Axelson b. 1875-06-13 in Joensuu. I can find the information in many sources, however I would be most happy if anybody could do a checkup in the church books in Joensuu, as the books are not to be found in HisKi or Digiarkisto. Johannes parents were Axel Johan Julius Axelson and Helena Sofia Sundvall.

Sincerely,

Sara:).

There is in Hiski-world following data:

in Mustio 20.6.1838 was born Axel Johan Julius
parents Bruks.predikant Abraham Johan Axelson and Hedvig Carolina Lauraeus 29
in Helsinki 1.7.1841 was born Helena Sofia
parents Theol.Prof Johan Matias Sundvall and Johanna Wilh. Aejmeleus

I suppose that in Hiski you can find more knowledge...

Greetings

Sorry to say but in the church book in Joensuu year 1875 was any english or finnish text. That is why the confirmation birth entry is as follows:
13.6. / 2.7.1875 Johannes Wiljam
Löjtnant Axel Axelson, Helena Sofia Sundvall
(Godfathers and godmothers:)
Mag. Axel Walle med hru Hanna Parviainen, Kontoristen Otto Brunström med hru Elin Parviainen, Kasören Nils Paldani, Fröken Rosa Forstén, Stud. Elis Weckström Fröken Elin Hällström.

All those people were vip-persons in Joensuu year 1875. In a book of Joensuu history we can find a very nice story of Petter Parviainen, who was father or fathers brother for mrs Hanna Parviainen and mrs Elin Parviainen.
Keväällä 1877 vietettiin komeat juhlat kauppaneuvoksen arvonimen myöntämisen johdosta. Tilaisuutta juhlisti Kuopiosta saakka saapunut läänin kuvernööri, joka piti arvonimen saajalle onnittelupuheen. Huumormies Petter Parviainen vastasi puheeseen. Hänen sanoistaan on jäänyt elämään seuraava katkelma: "Kun minulla on tuota rahhoo. Ja on mahhoohii. Vuan jos mie oesin vielä se kiihtelysläenen paemenpoeka, nii tuo kuvernyörhii sanos, jotta haesta sinä Pekka paska." Page 89 in the book: Esko Järvelin: Kolmen kauppaneuvoksen aikaa. Joensuu 1978.

Thank you Tapani!

I have information on the Axelson family going back to 1737, however I never got confirmation about Johannes birth date until now, thank you! I can read swedish but my finnish is not so good. I will get some help with the translation from my family.

Sincerely,

Sara:)
