I'm looking for my ancestor Samuel Samuelsson Halm (born 1st of May 1827 in Pulkkila, Finland) who according to my research went to United States of America some time between 1860 and 1869.

Also there is some evidence that he went to Norway in year 1865 and probably continued his trip to USA from there.

Beside that I know that he was married to Anna Beatha Myllykoski (born 1825, died 1894) with whom he had four sons. Only one son lived to adulthood, the first-born Reinhold Halm (born in 1857) who became shoemaker and merchant later in life.

I would be really glad if someone was able to tell me something about his trips abroad. Did he ever return to Finland, when he died and where? Why did he leave his family behind in Finland and why his family didn't hear of him ever again?
